The Cultural Goal of the College is to cultivate an appreciation of the fine arts, an understanding of the world, and adherence to high personal standards.
To achieve this goal, the College’s programs include:
· Fine Arts: Students are encouraged to reflect on Christian Western traditions through art, music, and theater programs on campus.
· Convocation Series: In addition to regular chapel programs, the College sponsors an annual major convocation that features national leaders who speak on themes that impact society.
· Travel Opportunities: The College provides opportunities for both domestic and international travel to help students gain a greater understanding of history and other cultures.
· High Personal Standards: The student handbook includes an “Appearance Policy” that details expectations for dress and grooming, which is described as being part of the cultural pillar and designed to ensure student appearance “reflects the culture and values of the institution.”
The College seeks to create programming and opportunities for students, which develop broad based knowledge and understanding of culture.
