NSG 254 - The Character of Professional Nursing Credit Hours: 4 Prerequisites: admission to the program, ENG 103 , MAT 013 or equivalent. This course introduces the student to the character of the nursing profession and the program’s philosophy and conceptual framework. A historical overview of health and healing from Biblical foundations to the present is examined. The Nightingale framework for nursing care and the critical thinking framework challenge the student to begin to think as a nurse, assuming the character and accountability and integrating the values of the discipline.
