General Information
Bachelor of Science in Engineering
As a general engineering program, students receive instruction in essential engineering topics and application to the major branches of engineering. Electives provide an opportunity to further explore an area of interest. Students desiring additional depth in a particular engineering discipline may apply to pursue a concentration which requires additional work beyond that required for the core engineering program. The engineering program prepares graduates to take the Fundamentals of Engineering exam and work in industry or graduate studies in engineering or in complementary fields such as business, law and medicine.
The department objectives for students majoring in engineering are:
- Provide essential engineering skills sufficient for a broad range of engineering practice;
- Provide experiences consistent with contemporary engineering practice;
- Promote the essential and unique value that a Christian lifestyle and worldview offer to engineers in the technical marketplace;
- Provide the historical and contemporary basis for contributions by engineers to American society;
- Promote the role engineers and their artifacts provide to support non-technical aspects of society.
