Biblical and Theological Studies Major - Christian Apologetics Emphasis, B.A.

General Information:


Bachelor of Arts

The objectives for the major in biblical and theological studies are that students will:

  • demonstrate an understanding of the historical, literary, and theological dimensions of the Bible; an ability to apply sound methodology to the interpretation of the Bible; an awareness of major themes in biblical and systematic theology; and a knowledge of the key figures and a broad outline of the history of the Christian church (Academic);
  • develop the necessary skills to lead in the church, parachurch ministries, and/or any worthy vocation to which God calls them (Vocational);
  • engage with the biblical Story, understand their role in God’s Story, and develop Christ-like character (Christian);
  • be responsible Christian citizens who can thoughtfully engage culture (Patriotic);
  • exhibit awareness of the major thinkers, themes, and ideas that have influenced Western culture (Cultural).

Biblical and Theological Studies Major, Christian Apologetics Emphasis Requirements: 49 credit hours
