General Information:


Bachelor of Science

The objectives of the computer science and computer information science majors are that students will:

  • acquire the computational and analytical skills required to apply for and complete graduate school, in the context of a broad, liberal arts education (Academic);
  • develop a strong work ethic to use effectively the computational and analytical skills expected within the scientific and business computer industry (Vocational);
  • address ethical and societal issues affecting the computing field from a Christian worldview (Christian);
  • develop an appreciation for and love of their country and the opportunities it provides (Patriotic);
  • value excellence and the setting of high personal standards for the quality of their work (Cultural).

Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 in upper division computer science courses to graduate with a major in computer science or computer information science.

Cross majors/minors between computer science and computer information science are not permitted.

Computer Science Major Requirements: 52 credit hours


Required Collateral Courses: 16 credit hours


Note:


* CSC 443  and CSC 463  must be taken in consecutive semesters.
