Bachelor of Arts

The M. Graham Clark Chair of Christian Nurture was established in 1992 to honor Dr. M. Graham Clark for 30 years of strong leadership to The School of the Ozarks®.

The objectives for the major in biblical and theological studies are that students will:

  • demonstrate an understanding of the historical, literary, and theological dimensions of the Bible; an ability to apply sound methodology to the interpretation of the Bible; an awareness of major themes in biblical and systematic theology; and a knowledge of the key figures and a broad outline of the history of the Christian church (Academic);
  • develop the necessary skills to lead in the church, parachurch ministries, and/or any worthy vocation to which God calls them (Vocational);
  • engage with the biblical story, understand their role in God’s story, and develop Christ-like character (Christian);
  • be responsible Christian citizens who can thoughtfully engage culture (Patriotic);
  • exhibit awareness of the major thinkers, themes, and ideas that have influenced Western culture (Cultural).
