General Information:
Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science
The objectives of the history major are: 1) To develop a general understanding of the major themes, events, and personalities of American and modern world history; 2) to develop skills in the collection, evaluation, and communication of historical data; 3) to provide opportunities for more advanced knowledge in specific geographic regions; 4) to prepare individuals for careers in education, business, law, the ministry, libraries and museums, and public service. Requirements:
Required major courses: 37 credit hours
Additional Requirements: 21 credit hours
Seven additional courses (300-400 level) to include:
Four in American history (HSA) (12 hours)
Three in European history or World history (HSE) (9 hours) Recommended for all majors:
Foreign languages, database research, and other courses in the social sciences and humanities. |
