General Information:
Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science
The graphic arts department prepares students to enter employment in the graphic communications industry. Students completing this major will have:
- knowledge of graphic communications history and appreciation for its role in advancing our culture (Academic);
- skills in prominent image reproduction methods, with advanced skills in offset lithography and digital printing, including all phases of production from design through product fulfillment (Vocational);
- ethical and social awareness rooted in the biblical and Judeo-Christian traditions so that they can responsibly apply technological advancements impacting trends in the graphic communications industry (Christian);
- the knowledge and understanding required effectively to manage production and supervise personnel in the graphic communications industry while demonstrating compassion and courage (Patriotic);
- knowledge of health and safety regulations enforced by state and federal agencies along with the understanding required to uphold regulations with a sense of urgency and accountability (Cultural).
Graphic arts majors must pass all courses required of the major program with a minimum 2.00 grade point average.
Required minor courses: 21 credit hours
