General Information:
Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science
The objectives for the major in biblical and theological studies are that students will:
- demonstrate an understanding of the historical, literary, and theological dimensions of the Bible; an ability to apply sound methodology to the interpretation of the Bible; an awareness of major themes in biblical and systematic theology; and a knowledge of the key figures and a broad outline of the history of the Christian church (Academic);
- develop the necessary skills to lead in the church, parachurch ministries, and/or any worthy vocation to which God calls them (Vocational);
- engage with the biblical Story, understand their role in God’s Story, and develop Christ-like character (Christian);
- be responsible Christian citizens who can thoughtfully engage culture (Patriotic);
- exhibit awareness of the major thinkers, themes, and ideas that have influenced Western culture (Cultural).
Requirements:
Required core courses for all Biblical and Theological Studies majors: 24 credit hours
Christian Apologetics Emphasis:
Required major courses: 36 credit hours
General Education courses specified by major: 6 credit hours
Required collateral courses: 6 credit hours
