The Robert W. Plaster School of Business

The Ralph T. Reeve Chair of Free Enterprise, established in 1974 to honor Dr. Reeve, is funded by corporations and individuals concerned about the future of American free enterprise.

The James L. “Bud” Walton Chair of Retailing was established in 1992 to honor Bud Walton for his strong support of the College of the Ozarks and his leadership in the American free enterprise system.

Upon completion of the foundation business program, students will be able to:

  • demonstrate an understanding of current theories and practices in major business disciplines including accounting, economics, finance, marketing, management, and information systems (Academic);
  • exhibit effective oral and written professional communication skills (Vocational);
  • demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills in business situations using data-driven decision-making techniques (Vocational);
  • summarize business legal and ethical principles through the lens of a Christian worldview (Christian);
  • apply the knowledge of business functions in the global and diverse cultural environments in the context of the free market system (Cultural and Patriotic).

Business Administration Information:


In addition to the above Business Core Outcomes, upon the completion of their Business Administration Program, students will be able to:

  • apply business concepts, methods, procedures, and tools necessary to overcome marketing challenges and issues;
  • perform calculations of different investment opportunities using different techniques, including Time-Value of Money;
  • apply the knowledge of business functions and entrepreneurship in the context of a free market system.

Majors are expected to participate in assessments administered by the Business Administration Department.

Business Administration Major Requirements: 57 credit hours


General Education Courses Specified by Major:


Choose Three 300-400 Level Credits of Business Electives:


  • Accounting (ACT)
  • Business Administration (BUS)
  • Finance (FIN)
  • Management (MGT)
  • Marketing (MKT)

Note:


Business Administration majors may not double major in Accounting, Accounting CPA Pathway, Finance, Management, or Marketing. 

Business Administration majors may not minor in Finance, Management, or Marketing.
