General Information:
Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science
The major in Mathematics will enable students to: 1) obtain a background in mathematics sufficient for graduate work, teaching in the secondary schools, or employment in industry; 2) organize and analyze information, solve problems readily and construct logical arguments; 3) do mathematics, using modern technology when appropriate; 4) appreciate the elegance and utility of mathematics.
All prerequisite courses require a grade of C- or better. Requirements:
Core courses required of all Mathematics majors: 32 credit hours
General Mathematics Emphasis:
Required major courses: 41 credit hours
MAT additional courses: 9 credit hours
(300-400 level) excluding MAT 423 and limiting hours under MAT 48V , MAT 49V and/or MAT 401 to a total of 3 credit hours. Required collateral courses: 3 hours
